The construction of this first-class hotel began in 1900, and it opened already in 1903. Accommodation was not cheap (25 rubles per day), but the hotel was almost fully booked from the very beginning. Even an uncle of the Tsar Nicholas II stayed in the "National" hotel in 1913.
